So, I was catching up with my friends at AEON Mall BSD last weekend. This mall, even though it is already more than a year since its grand opening, still got a great deal of crowd on weekends or public holiday. So after strolling around looking for a place to eat, we finally settled for Manhattan Fish Market. It is not the first time I eat in Manhattan Fish Market, but my last experience is pretty much the same with this one.
Ambience
The restaurant is located on the Ground Floor, just across the center stage. The location is very easy to find. The place is very open, you will get less privacy with people passing by seeing you eating. But anyway, they got some more private spots too! But if privacy is not your biggest problem, seating in the outer side area may do.
The highlight of this restaurant is their flaming prawns. If you decided to order any menu with their flaming prawns, the waiter/waitress will burn the prawns with torch beside your table for you to see.

Food
Though their flaming prawns is their speciality, we did not order the flaming prawns, because the fried platter looks more tempting and plentiful.
When we went there, they got a promo where when you bought their platter for sharing, you can add just Rp49,000 to add additional Caesar Salad, Cream Soup, Dessert, and two refillable drinks.

Caesar Salad, Rp39,000
The caesar salad is delicious, I like the dressing they used. Even my friend who does not really enjoy salad said this one is delicious.

Cream Soup, Rp19,000
The cream soup tastes like an ordinary cream soup with mushroom. Nothing special about this but still worth buying

Fried Giant, Rp249,000
This platter is designed for three, but plentiful for us four. It consists of crunchy prawns, fish fingers, cherry snapper fillets, battered onion strips, calamari, and fries with four dips.
The first sauce is Smokey Chipotle, it kinda tastes like sweet and sour sauce, but is richer in taste and stronger in the sweet side. This is my second favorite.
And then the Cajun Honey Mustard, not very enjoyable for me, it Mustard taste is very dominant that it overlap another seasoning. This is my third favorite.
And then the Tartar Sauce, I am a big fan of tartar sauce, though I don't like eating too much of tartar sauce. This one is the best sauce for me compared to another three.
The last one is Onion Glory Dip, tastes pretty much the same with Cajun Honey Mustard, not really a fan of it.
The fish fingers and calamari are the bomb! Crunchy and not very oily. The fries taste like the standard french fries. I'm not a big fan of onion, but i can totally tolerate with their battered onion strips. But their snapper fillets disappoints me, maybe snapper doesn't go well fried. It's inside is tasteless and dry.
After cleaning up 3/4 of the platter, we got really full, but we managed to finish it anyway. Overall, the platter is worth the price! The quantity and the price are proportional, but I warn you, if you don't have a strong throat, there is a big chance that you will catch sore throat after eating this.

Fried Oreo with Ice Cream
After eating great deal of fried foods, this dessert is totally not the best dessert for me. Hearing the word 'fried' already made me sick after eating tons of fried food. The ice cream is so-so, nothing special.
Overall
They are running promotions all the time. Keep an eye for their promotions to got a great deal!
